Access Network
The Access Network is an organization that brings together student-led programs across nine different institutions throughout the US. The Access Network and its members lead programs that aim to create a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible STEM community. As a Core Organizer (CO), I am part of a team that is responsible for mentorship and facilitating the operations of the organization. In this role, I have co-written grant proposals, mentored students in planning the yearly Access Assembly, and conducted research as a part of our self-evaluation efforts.
GRAD-MAP (previous)
Graduate Resources Advancing Diversity with Maryland Astronomy and Physics (GRAD-MAP) is a program that aims to create strong, sustainable ties between the University of Maryland and minority-serving institutions (MSIs). GRAD-MAP does this by providing opportunities for undergraduate students at HBCUs, MSIs, and community colleges, to engage in Physics and Astronomy workshops and research experiences with faculty and graduate student mentors at UMD. As a project manager and a part of the GRAD-MAP leadership team, I was responsible for organizing the GRAD-MAP Winter Workshop and the Summer Scholars programs.
PERCoGS (previous)
Physics Education Research Consortium of Graduate Students (PERCoGS) is the representative body for PER graduate students. We support and connect graduate students in PER and coordinate with AAPT and GPER to represent our interests. In the position of publicist, I was responsible for the PERCoGS newsletter and other outreach and communication with the community.
